June 2025 had some of the hottest days in CT.  That did not stop us from standing in line at Foodshare trucks, collecting, bagging and delivering more than 50 bags of food. on June 9, 16, 23 and 30th.  One of the mothers expressed deep gratitude saying, she didn’t know what she’d have done, she was almost out of food. We delivered several bags of food in April.

I’ve served as vice chair on the board of The Oliver-Benoit Foundation Co. where we’ve provided personal hygiene kits to the homeless on the streets, in shelters and by colaborating with local churches and different commnunity organizations. In the process, the need for nutritious food to a lot of children and families became a very sad reality.  In February, 2025, I personally spearheaded a used clothing and household items fundraising drive.  The Malima Foundation used the proceeds to donate a gift certificate for a family identified through a local public school to purchase nutritious food captured in the images above.  As we apply and receive donations, we hope to increase the number of families to help with nutritious food on a monthly basis.
